Police in Diani, Kwale County, have launched investigations into the murder of a young man, Hasaan Mbiriri, whose body was discovered under unclear circumstances along the Cabros Road near Bahari Dhow.

Mbiriri’s body was found with his hands and legs tied with ropes and severe injuries to his back, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.

The incident has left family members, friends and neighbours in grief as they seek answers about what happened to the young man, who lived in the Whitehouse area of Diani.

Speaking to our reporter, Mbiriri’s mother recounted the family’s distress following the discovery of his body.

Simon Mwangi, a neighbour who worked with the deceased as a painter, said he last saw Mbiriri at his home at around 9pm on the night before the incident.

Mwangi said Mbiriri had bid his mother goodnight and indicated that he was going to sleep.

He also spoke about what he described as periods when Mbiriri did not appear to be in his usual mental state.

Meanwhile, Mama Selina Karimi, a nyumba kumi leader in the area, addressed the incident and the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body.
