FOUR DEAD, 16 INJURED IN MERU ROAD ACCIDENT

Four people, three men and one woman, have died while 16 others sustained injuries after a lorry reportedly veered off the road and hit several vehicles and roadside traders at Riverland in Meru town.
North Imenti OCPD Hassan Bashir confirmed the incident, saying preliminary investigations were ongoing to establish the cause of the accident.
The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
The accident involved several vehicles and traders operating along the roadside, although the exact number of vehicles affected had not been established by the time of publication.
The identities of the deceased had not been released, as police continued investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The incident has raised concerns over road safety in busy areas where motorists, pedestrians and roadside traders share limited space.
