Leaders and thousands of mourners turned out in large numbers to bid final farewall to Mzee Mohamed Achani who was laid to rest at his rural home in Bodo,Ramisi ward in Msambweni Subcounty .

Mzee Mohamed Achani the 80 year old man father to Kwale County Governor Fatuma Achani passed on Monday morning after developing complication while performing fajr prayers.

The funeral of Mzee Achani was attended by prominant leaders both National and the county who gathered at Bodo village to bid final send off to the late Mzee Mohamed.

Representing president William Ruto at the funeral ,Cabinet Secretary Sports,youths and creative economy Salim Mvurya conveyed president William Ruto condolence message to Kwale County Governor Fatuma Achani,Kwale residents and her entire family for the Loss of their family pillar calling upon kenyans to remain united castigating politicians promoting divisive and tribal politics as the country heads to the next polls.

"we should reject at all cost tribal politicians they have no place in modern Kenya and i am calling upon you to support president William Ruto because he has proved to be a symbol of the National unity".Mvurya Said.

Kwale County Deputy Governor Chirema Kombo conveyed messages of goodwill and gratitude on behalf of Kwale County Government staff and the residents.

The Message expressed deep appreciation to the National Leaders,County ,Neighbors, Friends and residents who stood in solidarity with the Kwale County Governor Fatuma Achani and her Family during this difficulty period of grief.

"On Behalf of Kwale County Government we are sincerely humbled for the immense support both emotional and physical you have given to Governor Achani at this trying moment as she continues to mourn the demise of her Dad."Chirema Said.

Other Leaders who spoke during the burial ceremony for Mzee Achani include Mombasa Governor AbdulSwamad Nassir and the four members of Parliament in kwale Feisal Badar Msambweni,Mangale Chiphoromodo Lungalunga,Gonzi Rai Kinango and Kassim Tandaza Matuga.

The leaders expressed their deepest sympathies to Kwale County Governor Fatuma Achani following the passing of her father, Mzee Mohamed Achani, on October 19, 2026.

Present at the funeral were Deputy Governor Kilifi Florence Chibule ,Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko,Kwale Women Representative Fatuma Masito,Kwale County Speaker Seth Kamanza,Members of the County Assembly,Cecs ,Chief officers ,Directors,Religious and opinion Leaders among other Senior Government officials.
