A 25-year-old man, Athmani Juma, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of defiling a seven-year-old child in Vilalani village, Kwale County.

The sentence was delivered by Msambweni Magistrate Hon. Leah Wandia Kabaria following the hearing of the case and the presentation of evidence in court.

The court heard that the offence occurred on June 7, 2025, when Juma unlawfully penetrated the child.

The case highlights the importance of protecting children from sexual abuse and ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable under the law.
