Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has hinted at the possibility of leaving the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), raising questions about her political future ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Karanja said her next political move would be guided by her supporters, signalling that she could consider joining another party if they advised her to do so. However, she did not name a party she intended to join.

The senator has also expressed interest in contesting the Nakuru gubernatorial seat in 2027, setting the stage for a potentially competitive race against incumbent Governor Susan Kihika.

Her remarks come amid growing political realignments ahead of the next General Election, with the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, seeking to expand its influence.

Whether Karanja will leave UDA and seek the governorship on a different party ticket remains to be seen as political alignments continue to evolve ahead of the 2027 polls.
