Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has announced his separation from his partner, Brenda, following DNA test results that reportedly established he is not the biological father of their son, popularly known as Dragon Junior.

The musician, whose real name is Stephen Otieno Adera, announced the breakup on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in a statement shared on his social media platforms.

Stevo described the results as difficult to process, saying he had decided to handle the situation with dignity and respect for everyone involved.

“Following the DNA test results, I wish to officially announce that Brenda and I are no longer together as a couple,” he said.

He also appealed to fans and the public to respect his privacy as he navigates the situation, adding that his focus would remain on his music career and building a better future.

Brenda Responds to DNA Controversy

The breakup has since attracted further attention after Brenda disputed the suggestion that Stevo had only recently learned about the child's paternity.

According to a report by Pulse Kenya published on October 21, Brenda claimed that she had previously informed the rapper that he was not the child's biological father.

Speaking to content creator 2mbili, Brenda maintained that the issue had been discussed before the DNA results became public.

She also alleged that a confrontation occurred after a man identified as Oscar arrived at their home with physical copies of the test results. Brenda claimed that Stevo assaulted her and threw her belongings outside.

These allegations have not been independently verified, and Stevo had not publicly responded to Brenda's claims at the time of the report.

How the Paternity Dispute Emerged

Questions about Dragon Junior's paternity had circulated online for weeks before Stevo publicly addressed the matter.

The controversy intensified after the rapper's former manager, Geoffrey Machabe, reportedly claimed to be the child's biological father. Machabe later withdrew the claim and apologised.

Stevo subsequently underwent a DNA paternity test conducted by Microafia Healthcare. In a video shared publicly, a medical practitioner explained that the genetic profiles showed mismatches at 11 of the tested genetic markers, excluding Stevo as the child's biological father, according to the reported results.

The findings prompted the rapper to announce the end of his relationship with Brenda.

His latest announcement has generated widespread discussion on social media, with fans expressing different opinions about the breakup and the circumstances surrounding the DNA results.

The dispute has also renewed conversations about paternity testing, relationships and the challenges of handling private family matters in the public eye.

Stevo has asked the public to respect his privacy as he moves forward following the separation.
